3. Other Rare Tropicals
4. Supplies and products for successful cultivation of our
rare tropicals
1. Rare Tropical Drosera: These plants are recently
discovered Carnivorous plants native in the Northern
Territory, Australia. They are a wonderful group of plants
in the Drosera petiolaris complex group. All of these
plants, when cultivated correctly are true JEWELS of the
plant world. Extreme amounts of "DEW" are produced on each
of the plants petioles, producing a glistening effect when
light reflects off the plants. We have location plants as
well as some extremely limited and rare hybrid crosses from
this group. A very limited amount of seed/plantlets/plants
are available occasionally as well for the discriminating
collector. The rare Drosera petiolaris complex group all
enjoy warm, humid environments. I have successfully grown
these plants outside in the summer with excellent results.
These plants can be truly spectacular in group settings and
an awesome addition to anyone's collection!
2. Rare Heliamphora: This group of plants originated in the
mountaintops of South America. Some of our varieties are
recently discovered and extremely limited and rare. These
"pitcher" plants produce pitcher spoons that vary greatly in
appearance by their variety. They are all extremely
beautiful and take a long time to get to maturity, but when
they produce their mature pitchers-it's worth the wait! This
beautiful group of plants are grown in normal room
temperature and somewhat elevated humidity.
3. Other Rare Tropicals: Byblis,D.indica,D.hartmeyerorum,D.sessilifolia,D.burmannii,Cephalotus(Giant),
etc. are all extremely wonderful, beautiful additions to any
collection! They all enjoy warm temperatures and somewhat
elevated humidity. For example: planted in mass, D.
sessilifolia can produce a glistening carpet with tinges of
red-truly amazing site in your collection! These rare plants
can be cultivated right with your rare tropical drosera for
an outstanding presentation!
